PLACEMENT RULES

(for the Academic Year 2007-08)


1. DREAM JOB : If the students wish, they can give one or two preferences on or before 31/04/07 This is optional.


2. OUT OF PLACEMENT: A student is out of placement, when
   (a) he has got a job, and does not have any dream company option

OR

   (b) he has got one of his two dream jobs in the first instance itself. (This means that with one dream job in hand, he cannot attend 2nd dream job test/interview).
OR

   (c) when he has got a non-dream job and attended both of his dream job test and interviews
OR

   (d) when he has got one non-dream job and one dream job.


3. OPEN COMPANY: On the specific request by the companies, a few of them may be made open. Then the students with one job may also be permitted. In that case, a student is permitted to have a maximum of two jobs with any of the following combinations I Job II Job    (a) 1 non-dream + 1 dream job
OR

   (b) 1 non-dream + 1 open company job
OR

   (c) 1 dream + 1 open company job
OR

   (d) 1 open company + 1 dream (In other words the combination of 1 dream + 1 dream job is not permitted When the student gets the 2nd job, the first job offer will be automatically cancelled)


4. CHANGE IN DREAM JOB: No change in dream job is permitted, even if both the dream companies do not turn up.

5. OFFER OF JOBS: Announcement on the Notice Board will be considered as firm offer.

6. MEDICAL TEST: Medical test result is assumed positive till the result comes. If he is disqualified in the medical test it is equivalent to disqualification in some stage of interview.

7. PLACEMENT REGISTER: All the students going for Placement should register with the Placement office by submitting their bio-data on or before the specified date.

8. IDENTITY CARDS: Identity cards need to be produced on demand.

9. ATTENDANCE: If a person clears any one stage of a selection process, he has to attend subsequent stages of selection process. Failure to do so will keep them out of placement.

10. Notwithstanding the above, Placement Office reserves its right to use its discretion in all matters relating to Placement.
